For the mobile app “Space on Live”
Ap Runner (“we”) provides the mobile application “Space on Live” (the “App”) for Android and iOS. The App is a 3D solar system viewer: it shows the Sun, the eight planets and the Moon at any date and time, eclipse shadows, the International Space Station, and satellites in orbit around the Earth. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the App.
The App does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, address, phone number, or email address. The App has no account registration and no login, and we operate no server that receives data from the App.
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob is operated by Google and, when it serves an ad, it may automatically collect the following. This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us; we never receive it in a form that identifies you.
We do not operate any server that receives data from the App, and we do not combine advertising data with anything else the App holds. Your display settings and the orbital data cached on your device are never sent to the advertising service.
The App offers an optional AR mode that places the solar system in the space around you, so it needs access to the camera. How the camera is handled:
AR mode requires ARCore-capable hardware on Android and an ARKit-capable device on iOS. It is optional; the App is fully usable without it.
The App does not request or use your device’s location. Positions of the planets, the Moon, the ISS, and satellites are computed from the date and time alone, as seen from the centre of the Earth or from the scene camera you control. Latitude and longitude shown in the App are the ground track of the spacecraft being displayed, not yours. (As noted in section 1, advertising services may still derive an approximate location from your IP address.)
The solar system, eclipse calculations, and 3D models run entirely offline on your device. The App connects to the internet only for the following:
The 3D scene is rendered inside a WebView that loads only files bundled with the App, served from your device over a local address (127.0.0.1) that is not reachable from outside your device. No web page from the internet is loaded into it.
The following is stored only on your device, is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party, and is deleted when you uninstall the App:
You can clear your settings at any time from “Reset settings” on the App’s settings screen. There is no account and no sign-in, so nothing you do in the App is linked to you.
The App may ask you to rate it on the store, using the review feature provided by the operating system (Google Play In-App Review or Apple SKStoreReviewController). Whether you have been shown the prompt is recorded only on your device; we do not receive your rating or review text in any form that identifies you.
We do not provide user information to third parties, except where disclosure is required by law. For how advertising data is handled, please refer to:
For users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, the App requests consent for personalized advertising through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can review and change your consent choices at any time from the App’s settings screen.
On iOS, the App asks for permission to track through the AppTrackingTransparency framework before the advertising identifier (IDFA) can be used for personalized advertising. If you decline, the App still works in full and ads are shown without personalization; only the relevance of the ads changes. Declining never disables the solar system, the ISS, the satellite view, or AR mode.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address in section 16.
The App is an educational and entertainment astronomy viewer. Positions, distances, phases, eclipse times, and satellite tracks are calculated approximations, not navigational, observational, or operational data, and must not be relied upon for navigation, aviation, spacecraft operations, or any purpose where an error could cause harm or loss.
Planetary and lunar positions are computed with the Astronomy Engine library. Satellite and ISS positions are computed with the SGP4 model from public orbital elements published by CelesTrak, which reflect the state of the orbit at a past observation time; manoeuvres, atmospheric drag, and the age of the data all introduce error, and the App therefore shows satellite positions only within a few days of each observation time. Sizes, distances, and orbits are frequently shown at an adjusted scale so that they are visible on screen; the “real scale” mode makes distances and radii proportional, but the App is a visualisation, not a scientific instrument.
The 3D models and surface images are illustrative. When you approach the International Space Station, the App shows a detailed model derived from NASA 3D Resources, reduced in polygon count and texture size for mobile display; elsewhere, where the station appears at a small size, it shows a simplified model of our own. Neither reproduces the current configuration, attitude, or solar array angles of the real station. Planet and moon surfaces use fixed texture images, so clouds, weather, solar activity, and the atmospheric features of the gas giants are not live observations, and the background stars are decorative rather than the real sky.
The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NASA, CelesTrak, Celestrak LLC, the International Space Station partner agencies, or any satellite operator or space agency. Organisation, mission, and satellite names are used solely for identification and descriptive purposes and remain the property of their respective holders. While we strive for accuracy, the App does not guarantee that its content or its data is complete, current, or free from error.
Attribution for third-party material used in the App, including the NASA and Solar System Scope imagery and the open-source libraries, is shown in full inside the App under “How to use and about the display”.
Because the App has no account and no server of ours, we hold no personal data about you that we could look up, export, or delete on request. You remain in control of everything the App touches:
Depending on where you live, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, objection, or portability regarding data held by the advertising provider. Because that data is held by Google rather than by us, please exercise those rights through the Google links in section 8, or contact us at the address in section 16 and we will help where we can.
We take appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or leakage of the information handled by the App. Data the App stores stays on your device, and the App uses encrypted HTTPS connections for the requests described in section 4.
This Policy may be revised without prior notice due to changes in laws or in the App’s features. The revised policy takes effect once posted on this page, and the effective date below is updated at the same time. Where a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will seek your consent again in the App if the law requires it.
