For the mobile app “Sound & Vibration Meter”
Ap Runner (“we”) provides the mobile application “Sound & Vibration Meter” (the “App”) for Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the App.
The App does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, address, phone number, or email address. The App has no account registration or login.
The App uses Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements. AdMob may automatically collect the following:
The App measures the sound level around you, so it needs access to the microphone. How the audio is handled:
To measure vibration, the App reads the device’s built-in accelerometer. No permission is required for this sensor on iOS or Android. How the readings are handled:
Saved measurements (date and time, the sound level and vibration level figures, the measurement settings used, and any note you add) and your app settings are stored only on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. There is no account and no sign-in. Uninstalling the App deletes all of it.
The App may ask you to rate it on the store, using the review feature provided by the operating system (Google Play In-App Review or Apple SKStoreReviewController). Whether you have been shown the prompt is recorded only on your device; we do not receive your rating or review text in any form that identifies you.

For users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, the App requests consent for personalized advertising through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can change your consent choices at any time from the App’s settings screen. On iOS, the App requests tracking permission via the AppTrackingTransparency framework; all features remain available if you decline.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The App turns a smartphone microphone into an approximate sound level meter. It is not a certified measuring instrument and does not conform to IEC 61672 or any equivalent standard.
Smartphone microphones are designed for speech. Their sensitivity varies between models, and most devices cannot reproduce very quiet sounds or levels above roughly 90 dB correctly. Readings therefore depend on your device, its orientation, the distance to the source, wind, temperature, and any case covering the microphone.
Readings from the App are a guide, not legal or official evidence, and must not be used on their own to demonstrate compliance with occupational health rules, environmental noise regulations, tenancy agreements, or any other legal requirement. For that purpose, use a calibrated sound level meter or engage a qualified measurement professional.
The hearing safety figures shown in the App are based on published guidance from the U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH, 85 dBA over 8 hours with a 3 dB exchange rate) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA, 90 dBA over 8 hours with a 5 dB exchange rate). They are general information and are not medical advice. If you are concerned about your hearing, consult a physician or an audiologist.
The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NIOSH, OSHA, any standards body, or any manufacturer of measuring instruments. Organisation names are referred to only as statements of fact. The developer accepts no liability for any loss arising from actions taken on the basis of the App's readings.
We take appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or leakage of the information handled by the App.
This Policy may be revised without prior notice due to changes in laws or in the App’s features. The revised policy takes effect once posted on this page.
