For the mobile app “Diff Local”
Ap Runner (“we”) provides the mobile application “Diff Local” (the “App”) for Android and iOS. The App compares two pieces of text, two files, two folders, or two images and shows what changed. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the App.
This is the most important point in this Policy, so it comes first.
Files and folders are read only when you choose them yourself through your device’s own file picker, and only for as long as the comparison needs them.
The App does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, address, phone number, or email address. The App has no account registration or login.
The App uses Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements. AdMob may automatically collect the following:

The App requests only the permissions it genuinely needs:
The App does not request storage, microphone, camera, location, or contacts permissions. Reading the files and folders you compare requires no permission, because your device’s file picker passes along only the items you select.
The App keeps a short history of your recent comparisons so you can find them again. The history does not store the content you compared. Each entry records only:
Because the content itself is not kept, a text comparison cannot be restored from the history. The history holds a limited number of the most recent entries; older entries are discarded automatically. You can delete individual entries, or clear the history entirely, from the history screen at any time.
Your app settings, such as theme, language, and display preferences, are stored only on your device.
All of this data is stored locally using your device’s standard app storage. It is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party, and uninstalling the App deletes all of it.
On Android, you can send text or a text file to the App using your device’s Share function. The shared content is passed straight into the comparison screen in memory. It is not saved to a file, retained after the comparison, or transmitted anywhere. The App does not declare itself as a destination for photos or videos. This feature is not currently available on iOS.
The App may ask you to rate it on the store, using the review feature provided by the operating system (Google Play In-App Review or Apple SKStoreReviewController). Whether you have been shown the prompt is recorded only on your device; we do not receive your rating or review text in any form that identifies you.

For users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, the App requests consent for personalized advertising through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can change your consent choices at any time from the App’s settings screen. On iOS, the App requests tracking permission via the AppTrackingTransparency framework; all features remain available if you decline.
Because the App has no account and stores your comparison history and settings only on your device, we hold no personal data about you that we could retrieve, correct, or delete on your behalf. You are in direct control of everything the App stores: clear the history from the history screen, or uninstall the App to remove all of it.
For advertising data collected by Google, you can withdraw or change your consent at any time from the App’s settings screen, and you may exercise your rights regarding that data directly with Google using the links in Section 8.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The App shows the differences between two items as a convenience. It is not a certified verification tool, and its results should not be treated on their own as proof that two documents, files, or images are identical or that they differ. For very large or almost entirely different inputs, the App groups changes more coarsely so that it can respond promptly, and the result, while correct, may not be the smallest possible set of differences. Image comparison treats very small colour variations as identical so that a re-saved photograph does not appear to differ everywhere. Where the outcome carries legal, financial, or safety consequences, please verify it by other means as well. The developer accepts no liability for any loss arising from actions taken on the basis of the App’s results.
We take appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or leakage of the information handled by the App. Because what you compare never leaves your device, it is protected by your device’s own security, such as your screen lock and storage encryption.
This Policy may be revised without prior notice due to changes in laws or in the App’s features. The revised policy takes effect once posted on this page.
